The Marmolada glacier tragedy - Italy 2022

On 3 July 2022, due to anomalous heat waves, a serac detaches from the Marmolada glacier.
A cascade of water, snow, ice and rock falls at the speed of about 300 km per hour and overwhelms the tourists and mountaineers who were following the ascent route of the normal route to reach the summit.
In Canazei, the most important inhabited center near the Marmolada, the operations center is set up to coordinate land and air searches.
Defined by the investigators as a real carnage, only after days of research and DNA analysis on the recovered artifacts, the confirmed victims definitely rise to 11.
